Melvin is licensed to practice law in Nevada and focuses his representation to Clark and Nye County. Melvin primarily practices Family Law and Personal Injury Law.

Melvin is accomplished in Divorce, Custody, Complex Community Property Issues, and litigation. Melvin has appeared before the Nevada Supreme Court numerous occasions. Melvin recently won an Issue of First Impression that protects parents from misconduct in relocation cases. See 137 Nev. Adv. Op. 24 (2021).

Melvin is a veteran of the US Navy and is a service-connected disabled veteran. His dedication to Veterans and Veterans issues is well documented. Melvin has served as a pro bono attorney for the Attorney General’s Office of Military Assistance since 2016. Melvin also served as Defense Counsel for the Las Vegas Veterans Treatment Court from 2018 – 2021.

Melvin graduated from Western Oregon State in 1992 with a Degree in Education. Melvin then completed a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education in 2001. Melvin next completed an Ed.S in Education Leadership in 2008. Melvin left teaching in 2013 after 22 years of teaching to pursue a legal career.

Melvin graduated from the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV in 2012 and was admitted to the Nevada State Bar in May 2013. Melvin was the Principal Attorney and Owner of The Grimes Law Office until 2021 when he joined the Roberts Stoffel Law Group.

Melvin and his wife Shanna have six children and six grandchildren. They have lived in Las Vegas since 2005 and are active in the community. Melvin and Shanna have been active supporters of Keep Memory Alive in the Las Vegas Community and are always looking for ways to give back to the community that has given them so much.
